The aims of The Society are to encourage and promote an interest in the history of golf and the collecting of artefacts connected with that history. Little sympathy will be extended to any applicant who seeks membership for commercial gain. It should be noted that membership details will be held on a computer database but this will not be circulated to any commercial organisations. Objections to this method of holding personal information may be made clear on the Proposal Form.
Membership is open to both ladies and gentlemen over 18 years of age.
The proposer and seconder must be existing BGCS members who must know the candidate personally. The proposal form must be accompanied by letter of introduction from a proposer. In the absence of a proposer, consideration will be given to a letter of introduction from the applicant's golf club secretary.
